Charleston/ Grammy
Hi Sammy, We were talking about the time we met your family in Charleston. Your mom and dad had a wedding to go to and your mom knew how much we loved being with you so she asked if Grampy and I wanted to babysit. We were so excited! We couldn't wait to get there. We stayed at a crazy hotel that was round and we took you in the hall and you ran around and around in the circle. It took both of us to keep up with you! I gave you your baby food out of a jar and you took the spoon and fed yourself and we were both covered with food. You wanted to see your mom and dad after that and we went to their room. Your dad was getting dressed and your mom had on a pretty dress and you were so happy to see them that you jumped all over the bed! Your mom was pregnant with your sister. The best part was the next day. You were walking down the street with your pink cowboy boots and you saw Pop. Your face lit up and you stretched out your arms and went running towards him as fast as you could! People stopped on the street to watch you because it was so beautiful to see your love and excitement. We loved that weekend. We sure miss you, keep sending your love to your mom and dad and Matilda. Just wanted to tell you that we got our first Monarch caterpillar of the year in the yard recently. It's in chrysalis in our butterfly cage now. I hope you will come dance and play in our backyard and welcome this beautiful creature into a world you made so beautiful for all of us. I think of you always and remember you playing and laughing all the time, I know you are living now, just not the way I think. That is so incredibly heartbreaking, but thinking of you welcoming the butterfly into this world, comforts me when my heart is breaking for you, and your mom and dad and Matilda.
I also loved hearing you sing your abc's, and old Macdonald all in the same breath. Sammy, you are an amazing child and I will always think of you and love you!
My favorite memory / Aunt Nicole
I miss you so much Sammy. I think about you all the time. You gave us so many wonderful memories. I think my favorite one is the last sleep over we had, you and your sister woke up and your mom and I came in to help you guys get back to sleep. Your mom was with Matilda and I got to lay down with you and hold you till you fell back to sleep. You were so sweet and I can still feel you in my arms. I laid there with you for a little while, secretly hoping that I could just drift off with you, but of course your father came in and wanted to lay with you- you always were his snugle bug! The next morning we had PP&J's just the way you liked them at my counter. Love you so much baby girl. Close
I remember the time when you would not go to sleep, so instead we sat together in the kitchen and watched the biography of Marilyn Monroe on the little kitchen T.V. I made you your first bag of microwave popcorn, which you thought was some kind of miracle. We ate the popcorn and laughed and I remember thinking that I was so happy and I couldn't wait to do all of the things that a mother and a daughter do together. I couldn't wait to spend the rest of my life with you... I love you Sammy, I'm so sorry, I love you
Thankfully the day is almost over. I could not help but break down while I was looking at pictures of you in the office. I look at them every day! I could hear your voice screaming Daad!!, while you were swinging on your swing. You always made sure I was watching, and I always was. I wish I could hear your voice again. Well i was just thinking that it is coming to the end of the summer and it was not the same in L.B.I. without you me and karli missed you very much. We hope that u still come and visit even though your up in heaven. We used to love playing with you and your sister outside in the road all the time with your toy cars and stuff. I hope Mommy and Daddy like the songs I'm sending them tomorrow. I know you do, and I know you're listening, when I play. Grammy tells me she felt you in the garden the other day. I kind of figured thats where you would be playing in this long summer. Matilda is starting to almost say words to me on the phone when I call, so teach her a few more. We have been looking at pictures alot, and you sure look like your Mom when she was little. I also watched the canoe movie, from when your yard was a lake. I miss you so, and keep watch over all of us for the time being.
Yard/ Daniel Ventresca (Daddy)
Hey Bubba, They finally started working on the yard. Mom and I want so badly for you to see what we are doing. It is all for you & your sister. I dont really know what to say. I just want to talk to you, and this is the only way I know how. Your garden is looking better every week. Mom wishes I would spend more time on it. I promised her I would spend the whole weekend building the gate. You would love the sand box I made. Big enough for you and all of your friends. The pumpkin patch is huge, and all of the plants are flowering. We should have pumpkins very soon. The biggest one is for you. Your sister misses your company, and she is so much like you. Full of life and love. She is just as crazy as you. She definately would have kept up. I was talking to Uncle David on Wednesday. We were thinking about you & Chris. Give him a big kiss for me, and tell him I love him & think about him often. Tell Grand Pop & Aunt Hellen I love them too. Uncle Tim, Aunt Nicole, Uncle Brad & Aunt Laren have helped Mom and I a lot. They miss you desperately, so does Emma. She talk about you all the time. Especially about the movie theatre in NY. Mimi and Pop are not doing so well without you. They miss you so much. I am having trouble as well. The only comfort I have is with your mom and sister, but I can not be with them all the time. I think your mom would want to beat me up if I was with her all the time, anyway. Matilda would be cool with it. I miss you baby. I hope you still play outside every day. Sammy, You were beautiful in every possible way and always brought a smile to everyone’s face, you became the center of attention as we watched you play with amazement and discover new things. I hung your pink butterfly in my car and each time I look at it I smile a bittersweet smile as I remember the joy you brought to the world around you. Your time with us may have been short but it was filled with magnificent memories. You are missed greatly and will be forever loved.

My name is Rich Pierce and I started the online petition for HR 1861. Thank you and your family and friends for signing onto our petition Please contact me if you feel the need to talk. We lost our son Nicholas 5-1/2 years ago when his dresser toppled over onto him. Since then we have been in contact with dozens of fellow parents who lost thier children to Furniture and Televisions. This happens a lot more than you know. Us families have banded together to make a difference. The Lamberts and Becks presented the Act to Congress, Bob Lambert and I have joined the Consumer Products Safety Commision's group on furniture safety
I hurt deep inside that we did not get our message out to save Samantha, but you can help us get the word out and prevent other children and families from suffering the same fate.

A Beautiful and A Sure Hope / DI Gordon May I offer you my sincere condolences to you during your time of grief on losing little Samantha. So very sorry for the sadness you are going through. I see Samantha has left happy memories and her love she shared with you to cherish. I feel impelled to share with you words of comfort and encouragement shared with me when I lost my only child and son and continues to do so. For example in Revelation 21:4 it reads: "And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be any more. The former things have passed away." Now death has never occurred in heaven so this promise is for the earth. Can you imagine death itself "have passed away"! Verse 5 continues "And the One seated on the throne said: Look! I am making all things new." Also, he says: "Write, because these words are faithful and true." What an assurance! It surely give us the expectation of a bright and beautiful future when we will be with our loved ones again. That is why Psalm 37:29 reads, "The righteous themselves wil possess the earth, and they will reside FOREVER upon it." This is also why Jesus said in John 5:28, "Do not marvel at this, the hour is coming when all those in their memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out." Is this not what Jesus did for his friend Lazarus (John 11:43) after being laid to rest four days earlier. It is a beautiful story Jesus tells in John Chapter 11 of what he will do for all our precious sleeping ones. What an absolute thrill to look forward to seeing Samantha again running up to meet you with outstetched arms! There is a free brochure you can acquire named 'When Someone You Love Dies' that is a great help both in practical and spiritural ways. In fact it begins with the story of parents lost of a young child. It explains how to deal with your grief and how to help others as well. You will have comfort and a sure hope from this brochure as I have. You're little Sammy is so beautiful. I lost my only little boy Brandon last yr. He was 9 and killed in an atv accident. I have a memorial site for him also. It's under Brandon Bricker. You have a beautiful family and I am so sorry that you have had to face death, it's the worst thing about life I guess. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Nothing is easy about it but family and friends and people you don't even know yet will try to help you. I'm not a religous person but I do believe in God and I knew that he would have to carry me threw this because this is something I could never handle on my own. Good memories / Uncle Kody
Dear Sammy, I remember the time we were at your daddy's parents house in Princeton and there was a little hill in the back of their house and you, me, Emma, and Sara rolled down it and I took videos of you and Emma doing summer-salts. I watched them recently and was just about crying. The videos had you talking and reminded me of what your voice sounded like because the last time I saw you was at the blue claws game for that award I got. Nobody expected this to happen. When I was watching the videos I thought to myself that when I was taking them I never thought that this was going to happen. I remember all the times that I would think about what you would look like and what your voice would sound like when your mommy was pregnant with you. You were always a good older sister to Matilda. Matty would always look up to you and copy the things you would do. I will always tell her about you and what a beautiful little girl you were. I loved when you would dance to me playing my guitar or when you would try to pick it up but it was too heavy so I would sit you on my lap and hold the guitar and let you strum the strings and you would have a lot of fun doing that. You loved my birds so much. If you were unhappy (which rarely happened) we would all ask you if you wanted to see the birds and you would run into my room with a smile on your face. When you would run into my room and try to get on my bed when you were a little younger you would run and hit the bed and do a faceplant right into the pillows. I thought it was so funny when you and Matilda would try and share this vibrating back massager and when Matty wasn't looking you would take it and run. But lucky I had two and you each had one. When I was over my grandparent's house I was on this swing they had and I was thinking that this happened like yesterday but it felt like it was forever since this happened. I wish I got to play in the snow with you. I never got to though. I have seen the pictures of you playing in the snow and just by looking at them you could tell you loved snow. We would have had a pretty great time together in the snow. I remember when all of the family went down to Long Beach Island to celebrate your second birthday and on one of the rides you got your finger caught and we had to ice your thumb but as soon as you felt ok you were back on the rides. I thought that was pretty cool. I miss you so much. Love Uncle Kody....................
